Project Wings to Dreams 2025-2026
Workshop on Designing an Accessible 3D Model & In-door Games - 2025
On 5th September 2025, members of the non-computer team from Project Wings to Dreams participated in a workshop facilitated by our Founder and President, Mr. Abhishek Shahi. The session focused on the challenges and benefits of developing 3D models and explored different measures to make them accessible for all. Mr. Shahi, who recently completed his thesis on "3D and Tactile as Teaching Learning Tools: A Visual Disability Education in Nepal", shared valuable insights from his research. His work highlights how 3D and tactile models can help overcome graphical barriers in inclusive education for students with visual disabilities. The objectives of his study were to identify both the benefits and challenges of using 3D and tactile models, and to explore practical solutions for making these resources more widely accessible. He explained that accessible 3D models can be created using different methods—such as resin and filament 3D printers, or even simple, locally available materials liWorkshop about Braille Script – August, 2025
On Friday, 29th August 2025, Chain For Change organized a special workshop for the new members of Project Wings to Dreams (2025/26). The session introduced participants to the braille script, where they learned how to read and write in both English and Nepali braille, along with practicing basic arithmetic calculations using braille. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Abhishek Shahi, Founder & President of Chain For Change, and Ms. Deepika Shahi, Co-Founder & Secretary. Among the participants was Ms. Inés Martínez Gabarda, Intern Design Instructor (2025/26) at Chain For Change and an exchange student from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain, who actively took part in the session alongside other members. This year, 10 participants joined the training, representing different academic backgrounds including BA, CSIT, BIM, and BSc Physics. The diversity of participants brought fresh perspectives and energy to the program, reinforcing the spirit of inclusivity and collabora3D Design & Printing Class for Computer Team - 2025
Chain For Change, in collaboration with St. Xavier's College, Maitighar, Expedición Solidaria, and Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain), has launched a 3D design, printing, and maintenance training program under Project Wings to Dreams: 3D for Accessibility. The training began on 27th July 2025 and is designed for new project members (2025/26) and staff of St. Xavier's College. In the first sessions, participants were introduced to Blender software, 3D printers (filament and resin), slicer tools, and interface basics under the guidance of Supreme Khadka and Rochak Khatiwada. They later advanced to hands-on modeling with facilitators Rayan Karki and Garima Shakya, practicing core techniques like Extrude, Inset, and Loop Cut by creating simple models such as cups, dustbins, and honeycomb patterns. By mid-August, learners explored more advanced features including Modifiers, Bezier curves, smooth shading, and SVG extrusion, applying their skills to accessible models like LEGO blWorkshop About Developing Concept Paper for Creating a 3D Model - 2025
On 8th August, 2025, a workshop was conducted for the project members of 2025/26 to develop a concept paper for creating a 3D model. Our Research and Quality Assurance Officer, Mr. Karmendra Shrestha, facilitated the session and elucidated the process of crafting a concept paper to develop a 3D model. He presented his concept paper and explained the participants to draft each sections. Then, he also explained how to draw a sketch related to the model and demonstrated how his prototype was different from his final model. Additionally, our Founder and President, Mr. Abhishek Shahi, explained the phases involved in developing a 3D model, alongside the preparation of a final paper. He explained what concept or idea is and how demanding is the process to develop an accessible 3D model. He presented all the names of 3D models that were developed by the past project members. He concluded the session by explaining the project members the goals and avenues that they will be working on for comOrientation event about Project Wings to Dreams - 2025
