Distribution of Reading Aid and Assistive Devices for Persons with Low Vision - 2023

On 7th March, 2023 - Tuesday, Chain For Change in collaboration with Expedición Solidaria distributed reading aid and assistive devices to 54 children and teachers with low vision of Laboratory Secondary School, staffs of St. Xavier's College, parents and guardians, stakeholders, organizational members and volunteers.

Dr. Cristina Gomez Vicente and Dr. Guillermo Rodriguez Cortes representative members of Expedición Solidaria gave a presentation regarding concept of Low vision, its preventive measures and proper support techniques/methods to overcome the challenges. They also made thorough assessment of eyesight of the self-directed individuals with and without low vision and distributed reading aid and assistive devices like magnifying glasses, power specs and other optical support. In the attendance, 50% of them were females and 45% of them had some sort of visual disabilities.

Distribution Of 3D and Braille Educational Materials and Assistive Devices - 2022

On 15th August, 2022 Chain For Change with the support of Expedición Solidaria jointly handed over 3D and Braille educational materials and assistive devices to Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur, Kathmandu. The support includes 3D, tactile and Braille books, braille papers, braille teaching kits, toys for children with visual disabilities, 3D educational materials, and assistive devices like magnifying glasses and rolling white canes. These donated materials help in teaching-learning process of Braille and overall education of children with visual disabilities.

On 26th June, 2022 Chain For Change had supported Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur, Kathmandu with Braille cubes - an braille learning instrument so that, students with visual disabilities would receive proper braille literacy. In Nepal teaching/learning braille is very traditional and requires advancement. These Braille cubes were supplied to CFC by Pilar Izquierdo and Roser Izquierdo Colet which is one of many such technologies to support in braille learning process, tackle pedagogical challenges and create powerful impact in education of persons with visual disabilities.

Celebrating International Youth Day 2019

  • The Founder and Director Mr. Abhishek Shahi of Chain For Change is speaking about the importance of inclusive education to the students of Janapath Secondary School.
On 9th August, 2019 - Friday, Chain For Change collaborated with 'Yuwa' to celebrate youth day in a theme 'transforming education'. The documentary entitled 'Wings of Consciousness' produced by CFC got featured in a week long program held in 'Janapath Secondary School', Kalanki, Kathmandu.

Abhilasha - The Charity Orchestra Concert and Screening Documentary "Wings of Consciousness"

  • Around 23 - 26 members of Segon Temps – the orchestra band are posing in the staircase of Watrain hall of St. Xavier’s College, Maitighar after performing at the Abhilasha – The Charity Orchestra Concert in Nepal.
Chain For Change partnered with Expedicion Solidaria' and 'Segon Temps' to organize two days charity event on 24th April, 2019 and 27th April, 2019 in Pokhara and Kathmandu respectively. With an aim to spread adequate knowledge about institutionalizing the disable friendly infrastructure and approaches to inclusive education through the projected documentary "Wings of Consciousness" as well as offer entertainment through western orchestra and local music, approximately 500 people became a part of this event. Around 15 persons with visual disabilities were given whitecanes as their mobility aid.

On 28th July, 2018 - Saturday, Chain For Change organized an event named 'Awarding certificate of honor to scribes and other honorary personas' with an aim to admire scribe for their contribution in assisting persons with visual disabilities in their examination along with those goodhearted personas who had helped the organization in any way possible. 30 scribes and philanthropic individuals were awarded with certificates of appreciation and token of love on that day.
