3D for Accessibility
Accessible & Inclusive Educational 3D Models Handover to Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur - 2025
During the session, several officers proudly handed over the 3D models they had created:
• Phases of the Moon by Mr. Karmendra Prakash Shrestha
• Parts of a Flower by Srijana Katwal
• Lifecycle of a Honeybee by Sanskriti Pokharel
• Amoeba by Romee Jijicha
• Plant and Animal Cells by Khushi Subedi
Since Mr. Sangam Khadka and his team could not attend the event, the remaining four models were handed over by the officers of Chain For Change. These included Atomic Structures of 20 Elements, Layers of Soil, Flag of Nepal, and Traffic Signs. In total, 10 unique educational models, originally designed and developed by project members from 2023/24, were officially handed to the school.
Ms. Fanny also gifted a set of indoor games for children with visual disabilities, which she brought from Spain. These included brick blocks, a sound tree, poppets, and other tactile learning tools.
These 10 models mark the first set of accessible and inclusive educational materials created under the initiative Project Wings to Dreams: 3D for Accessibility. All items were made using locally available resources. Moving forward, Chain For Change and its partner organizations plan to distribute more such materials; Both those produced from 3D printers and those developed using local resources to support accessible education across Nepal.
