What We Do

Guiding Techniques & Mobility Skills Training – 2025

In April, 2025, we conducted our 4th Season of our signature project "Guiding Techniques and Mobility Skills training and Inclusive Hiking". On 23rd and 24th April, 2025, we conducted 2-days training for students with visual disabilities of Laboratory Secondary School and the project interns and on 26th April, 2025, we took a group of 42 members for inclusive hike to Nagi Gompa, Shivapuri National Park.

During the 2 days of training, 9 students with visual disabilities and a teacher with visual disability participated to learn mobility skills design to be used in their daily lives and hiking whereas 16 project interns who participated learned different guiding techniques to support their pair with visual disabilities.

There were 3 Spanish specialized Trainor where Mr. Alfonso Xosé González Cabarcos taught participants to use Spanish techniques of guiding persons with visual disabilities in the hiking and trekking route using a long sticks. Similarly, Mrs. Kety Balibrea Melero and Mrs. Nuria Caus Pertegaz facilitated the participants with spatial orientation of using the map and other sporting techniques like rope to support persons with visual disabilities during hiking and trekking. Four of the Spanish students also assisted them during the course.

The Executives of CFC Mr. Abhishek Shahi and Ms. Deepika Shahi also taught the participants with visual disabilities to use the white cane for mobility in hiking and during daily life. They also taught the project interns to guide their pairs with visual disabilities in friendly and safe manner.

On 26th April, 2025, 12 individuals with visual disabilities, their pairs, trainers, representatives from partner organization and CFC members went for an inclusive hike to Nagi Gompa, Shivapuri National Park. This project was successfully conducted by Chain For Change along with its partners Expedición Solidaria, St. Xavier's College, Maitighar, Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur, Universitat Politècnica de València, Universitat de València, EWE Consortium, IES La Creueta and Access Nepal Tour.
