Menstrual Talk Event Season III - 2024

On 31st May, 2024, Chain For Change collaborated with Family Planning Association of Nepal (Valley Branch) to carry out Menstrual Talk Event Season III at Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur, Kathmandu. 14 students with visual disabilities of different age and gender participated in an orientation event to understand about menstruation and hygiene using accessible 3D models of both internal and external female reproductive organs.

The session was led by Sanjiya Shrestha Cofounder & Treasurer of CFC who also has experience of working as SRHR advocator and counselor at FPAN Valley Branch. In this event, female students with visual disabilities who are about to or just experiencing menstruation learned how to take care and maintain proper hygiene during these phase. They also got chance to explore different menstrual products like pads, tampons and menstrual cups. Even male students with visual disabilities got to understand the process of menstruation, different types of menstrual product and how to support someone menstruating in that stage.

Likewise, this season also had set up health camp in collaboration with FPAN valley branch. More than, 60 teaching and non teaching staffs, students and their parents of Laboratory Secondary School, took benefit of many Sexual and Reproductive services along with other lab facilities.
