Guiding Techniques and Mobility Skills Training - 2023

On 4th and 5th March, 2023, Chain For Change in collaboration with Expedición Solidaria successfully conducted 3rd season of 'Guiding Techniques and Mobility Skills Training - 2023'. In the training, representative members of Expedición Solidaria Dr. Cristina Gomez Vicente and Dr. Guillermo Rodriguez Cortes distributed white canes as a mobility aid to participants with visual disabilities.

On the first day of the training, 15 persons with visual disabilities and their guides learn correct mobility skills using their rolling white canes in out/in-door settings, safely navigate without using white canes, proper guiding techniques and disable friendlier approaches and behaviors at Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur, Kathmandu. Next day, a group of 44 including 17 persons with visual disabilities, their guides, teachers from Laboratory Secondary School, parents/guardians, camera crew and CFC members hiked to Nagigumba at Shivapuri-Nagarjung National Park.

Fr. Jiju Varghese, S.J - Superior and Director of International Relation of St. Xavier's College, Maitighar, Kathmandu also blessed the hikers with his graceful presence. After the hike, participants were awarded with certificates. Ms. Jeena Maharjan and Mr. Pradip Chaudhary captured all the happenings of the event through their camera.
