Guiding Techniques and Mobility Skills Training - 2022

Guiding Techniques & Mobility Skills Training was successfully conducted on 13th - 15th August, 2022 for 12 persons with visual disabilities and their guides at Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur, Kathmandu. This is the second edition of this project after 2019 where the participants with and without visual disabilities learn correct mobility skills using their rolling white canes in out/in-door settings, safely navigate without using white canes, proper guiding techniques and disable friendlier approaches and behaviors.

36 Participants with and without visual disabilities also got chance to hike to Sundarijal at Shivapuri-Nagarjung National Park on 14th August, 2022 after receiving a day long training on 13th August, 2022. On 15th August, the closing ceremony was held at the hall of Laboratory Secondary School. Participants with visual disabilities also received rolling white canes as a mobility aid during the session.
