Inclusive and Adaptive Sports & Goalball - 2026

On 4th, 5th and 13th May, 2026, Chain For Change - CFC, along with its partners, conducted a three-day Physical Sports and Goalball training for the students with visual disabilities of Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur, Kathmandu.

Our CFC Officers and Project Members, Ms. Romee Jijicha Sunuwar, Mr. Nischal Raj Shakya, Ms. Shubhangi Acharya and Ms. Aayusha Pokharel worked closely with Ms. Claudia Fuster Escorihuela, Mr. Nelson Baeh Escudero, Mr. Pedro Simon Espadas and Mr. Carlos Viana Rubio to facilitate the sessions and support the participants throughout the training.

During the three-day program, students with visual disabilities were introduced to different physical activities and the fundamentals of Goalball, including warm-up exercises, ball control, defensive positioning, movement techniques and teamwork. The sessions encouraged active participation and provided an opportunity for students to build confidence, improve mobility and develop coordination through adaptive sports.

The training also promoted cross-cultural learning and teamwork, where Nepali project members and Spanish students worked together to deliver inclusive sports activities. Through this collaborative approach, participants not only learned the skills required to play Goalball but also experienced the value of cooperation, inclusion and mutual learning in creating accessible sporting opportunities for everyone. This event is an initiative by Chain For Change in collaboration with Expedición Solidaria, St. Xavier's College, Maitighar, Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur, Access Nepal Tours & Treks, and EWE Consortium.
