What We Do

Goalball Training at Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur - 2025

On 16th May, 2025, training for one of the adaptive sports - goalball was conducted at Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur, Kathmandu for the students with visual disabilities. This training package was intended for 2 months (for May and June) initiated by Chain For Change in collaboration with Expedición Solidaria, St. Xavier's College, Maitighar, Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur, Universitat Politècnica de València, Universitat de València, EWE Consortium, IES La Creueta and Access Nepal Tours and Treks.

3 of the Spanish Students Mr. Manel Granero Cedrón, Mr. Tomas Edgar Requena, and Mr. Arnau Pérez Plà along with the support from project interns and members of CFC taught the students with visual disabilities the basics of Goalball game like warm-up exercise, defense and a fence techniques. They also explained the Sports Teacher and other students of Lab School about the rules and techniques to play the Goalball match and how it can be used as a sport for everyone to play together regardless of their disabilities.

By the end of this project, students with visual disabilities were able to play the game following all the rules. A team was developed who could not just play but, also pass on their learning and skills to other colleagues and friends. Goalball has become a sport that would not just ignite competitiveness but, also sense of cohesiveness among one another.
