Funder, Donor and Sponsor Policy

Chain For Change – CFC (परिवर्तनको लागि सञ्जाल – पल) is a youth led non-profitable, non-governmental and social welfare organization which is registered on 20th September, 2017 at District Administration Office – Kathmandu with a registration no: 247. On 26th September, 2017, CFC was affiliated to Social Welfare Council with a registration no: 46578.
It imagines an inclusive world where persons with visual disabilities and others function according to their complete capacity with respect, dignity and cooperation in the society. It ensures active participation of persons with and without visual disabilities in all the programs so that, those without disability could understand and realize social inclusion is possible if they accept it as their collective responsibility.
1. Name, Objective and Definitions
1.1. Name
The name of this policy shall be 'Funder, Donor and Sponsor Policy of Chain For Change – CFC' and has been developed and adopted in accordance with the organizational constitution's Article 27.2.
1.2. Objective
This policy outlines the principles and guidelines governing the engagement and management of funders, donors, and sponsors to ensure transparency, accountability, ethical alignment, and mutual respect in all partnerships. It ensures that all contributions support Chain For Change's mission. Therefore any previous policy executed for operating those funds shall cease to exist after this policy has been adopted. However, the organization can develop separate supporting guideline as per the need with the decision of the executive board.
1.3. Definitions
If not stated otherwise:
- The organization: is referred to as 'Chain For Change – CFC'.
- The government: is referred to as the government of Nepal.
- Organizational constitution: means the set of principles and regulating documents of 'Chain For Change – CFC' which is developed under and recognized by the government of Nepal.
- The members: are those who are the part of this organization and have been defined and categorized by the organizational constitution.
- Executive board: means the group of members who are appointed/elected to act on behalf of and within the powers granted to them by the organizational constitution.
- Funder: is an individual, organization, or institution that provides financial grants to support specific programs, projects, or operational needs, often through a formal agreement and requiring deliverables and reporting.
- Donor: is an individual or entity that voluntarily provides financial or in-kind support out of philanthropic motivation without expecting material return, other than recognition or acknowledgment.
- Sponsor: is an individual, business or entity that provides financial or in-kind support to events, campaigns, or initiatives in exchange for specific marketing, branding, or networking benefits under a contractual agreement.
2. Principles Governing Contributions
All forms of contributions to the organization must align with the following core values:

3. Commitment to Inclusion, Accessibility, and Non-Discrimination
- By entering into this partnership with the organization, all the Funders, Donors and Sponsors affirms its commitment to respecting and accepting all individuals, irrespective of disabilities or any form of injustice, marginalization, or mistreatment.
- Each funders, donors and sponsors agrees to align with CFC's core values and policies that discourage all forms of discrimination and actively promote the creation of an accessible, inclusive, humanitarian, and disability-friendly environment.
- Each funders, donors and sponsors agrees to use inclusive and respectful language in all official communications—whether in print or online, including but not limited to promotional resources, advertisements, verbal or written content, website materials, and social media platforms.
- Upon the signing of the partnership agreement, any terminology considered offensive or inappropriate—such as "persons with different abilities," "the blind," or outdated descriptions of disability—shall be replaced and amended in all official communications.
- Each funders, donors and sponsors shall instead adopt language in accordance with the standards recommended by the United Nations and the Government of Nepal, such as "persons with disabilities" or more specific terms like "persons with visual disabilities," "persons with hearing disabilities," and "persons with physical disabilities."
- Furthermore, each funders, donors and sponsors agrees to take active steps toward making its website, services, and workplace environment more accessible and welcoming to all individuals, including persons with disabilities, thereby upholding the principles of universal design and inclusion.
4. Policy on Funders
4.1. Eligibility
The organization welcomes support from:
- Government agencies and Non Governmental Organizations
- International development bodies and International Non Governmental Organizations
- Foundations (private and public)
- Corporations with ethical CSR programs
- Individual philanthropists
4.2. Engagement Process
It will require a formal application or proposal process. Subject to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) or grant agreement. It may involve specific outcome deliverables, timelines, and financial reporting.
4.3. Reporting & Accountability
- Periodic narrative and financial reports are shared as per grant terms by the organization.
- Impact measurement and monitoring mechanisms are instituted as necessary.
4.4. Recognition & Stewardship
Funders providing financial grants to support specific programs, projects, or operational needs of the organization will be acknowledged based on the formal agreement. It May include:
- Feature Funder's logo or picture, name, website, and duration of affiliation in the "Hall of FAMES" section of the organization's website.
- Inclusion in annual reports and official documents, newsletter, articles and press release
- Promotional resources and advertisements
- Organization's social medias
- Offering personalized thank-you letters
- Public appreciation (if permitted)
- Remain anonymous
Note: All forms of recognition shall be subject to prior consent of the contributor.
4.5. Conflict of Interest
All funder relationships are examined by the Executive board of the organization to prevent any real or perceived conflicts of interest.
5. Policy on Donors
5.1. Donor Categories
The organization welcomes donation from:
- Individual Donors
- Community Groups or organizations
- Corporate Donors
5.2. Recognition & Stewardship
Donors voluntarily contributing to the organization with financial or in-kind support out of philanthropic motivation without expecting material return will be acknowledged. It May include:
- Offering personalized thank-you letters
- Public appreciation (if permitted)
- Feature Donor's logo or pictures, name, contribution and its impact in the official website.
- Inclusion in annual reports and official documents, newsletter, articles and press release
- Promotional resources and advertisements
- Organization's social medias
- Remain anonymous
Note: All forms of recognition shall be subject to prior consent of the contributor.
5.3. Tax Receipts
All eligible financial donations will be issued tax receipts in compliance with local regulations of the government.
5.4. Ethical Screening
Donations from individuals or businesses engaged in harmful practices (e.g., weapons, tobacco, exploitation, or corruption) will be declined.
6. Policy on Sponsors
6.1. Overview of Sponsorship Opportunities
The organization provides a range of sponsorship opportunities for individuals, corporations, and institutions that align with the organization's mission to empower persons with visual disabilities in Nepal. Sponsorships can be:
- Annual/Tier-Based Sponsorships
- Project-Based Sponsorships
- Program or Event-Based Sponsorships
These sponsorships enable supporters to fulfill their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), enhance brand visibility, and make a tangible social impact.
6.2. Tier-Based Annual Sponsorship Categories
These are general annual partnerships based on financial contribution:

In-kind contributions are also accepted and will be evaluated based on their estimated market value.
6.3. Project, Program, and Event Sponsorships
In addition to annual support, sponsors can directly fund specific initiatives and signature projects such as:
- Inclusive Hiking for Persons with Visual Disabilities
- Inclusive Trekking for Persons with Visual Disabilities
- Project Wings to Dreams;3D for Accessibility
- Developing 3D models and Accessible Signboards of Educational Institutions and Public/Touristic Spaces
- Menstrual Talk Event
- Accessibility Technology Projects
- Public Awareness Campaigns
- Cultural & Community Events
These sponsorships are flexible and tailored to the scope and budget of each initiative.

6.4. Benefits of Sponsorship
Regardless of sponsorship type, all sponsors receive a curated set of benefits aligned with their contribution level, including:

- Brand Visibility: Name/logo placement on our website (Hall of FAMES), event banners, social media, reports, and more.
- Recognition & Certification: Official framed certificate of appreciation and acknowledgment during public events.
- Engagement & Access: Invitations to events, networking sessions, and cultural meets hosted by the organization.
- Transparency & Impact Reporting: Access to our Sponsor Hub for real-time updates, impact data, and annual performance reports.
- Collaborative Input: Opportunity to share feedback and shape future projects or campaigns as an engaged stakeholder.
6.5. Terms and Conditions
- Duration: Annual sponsorship is valid for 12 months from the date of contribution. Project or event sponsorship duration is based on the timeline of the initiative supported.
- Non-Refundable Contributions: Financial or in-kind support is non-refundable after confirmation.
- Renewal & Communication: Annual Sponsors will be notified at least two months prior to expiration of the sponsorship term with options to upgrade, renew, or discontinue.
- Respectful Partnership: Both parties will uphold mutual respect, dignity, and shared growth principles.
6.6. Our Commitment to Sponsors

7. Brand Use & Integrity
Funders, Donors and Sponsors must not misuse the organization brand or engage in activities that contradict organization's mission or ethics.
8. Zero Tolerance Policy
Any engagement in corruption, hate speech, abuse, or misinformation will result in immediate termination of the partnership.
9. Legal Compliance
The organization reserves the right to pursue legal action in accordance with organizational policy and the laws of Nepal in the event of a breach. Any dispute arising from the interpretation or execution of this policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nepal.
10. Rights Reserved by the Organization
The organization reserves the right to:
- Decline or Return Contributions: Reject or return any financial or in-kind contributions from individuals or entities whose values, actions, or affiliations are misaligned with the mission, ethics, or integrity of the organization.
- Review and Revise Partnership Terms: Modify, suspend, or terminate partnership agreements if any reputational, ethical, legal, or operational risks are identified during the course of the partnership.
- Maintain Programmatic Autonomy: Retain full independence and control over all programmatic decisions, ensuring that funding, donation or sponsorship does not influence the content, priorities, or direction of the organization initiatives.
11. Confidentiality and Data Protection
The organization complies with applicable data protection legislation of Nepal and follows international best practices regarding data privacy and digital security. It ensures that:
- Protection of Contributor Information: All personal, financial, and organizational information shared by funders, donors or sponsors will be handled with strict confidentiality and stored securely in accordance with applicable data protection laws and internal policies.
- Use of Data: Information will only be used for purposes related to sponsorship and contribution administration, recognition, and reporting unless explicit consent is provided for other uses.
- Consent for Disclosure: No sensitive or identifying information will be shared publicly or with third parties without prior written consent from the funder, donor and sponsor.
- Internal Access Only: Access to confidential data is limited to authorized the members and employees who require the information for official organizational purposes.
12. Review and Amendment
This policy shall remain a living document, subject to revision to ensure alignment with the evolving legal, organizational, and operational landscape. Amendments may be made under the following circumstances:
- Legal Compliance: If any provision of this policy is found to be in conflict with the prevailing laws or regulations of the Government of Nepal, it shall be rendered void or amended accordingly to ensure legal compliance.
- Organizational Constitution Alignment: If any clause contradicts the Constitution or core governing documents of the organization, it shall be revised or removed to maintain organizational integrity.
- Achievement of Objectives: If any part of the policy hinders the effective fulfillment of the organization's mission or the intended purpose of the funder, donor, or sponsor relationships, necessary amendments shall be made.
- Structural or Financial Changes: Updates may be introduced to reflect changes in the financial systems, governance structures, or operational frameworks of the organization.
- Periodic Review and Evaluation: Based on scheduled assessments, audits, or policy evaluations—either internal or external—this policy may be updated to enhance relevance, efficiency, and effectiveness in its application.
All amendments will be approved through the appropriate governance processes of the organization and communicated to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
